Ordinance 13 regulates the separation of recycling (PDF) and wasted food and food scraps (PDF). Only certain types of businesses must comply with the food waste recycling requirement (organics recycling) and organics recycling is not required front-of-house. It is possible that the business you are reporting does not need to comply with requirements. Hennepin County staff will check what requirements apply to the business you are reporting.

Hennepin County does not have customer-facing (front-of-house) collection requirements for organics recycling. If you are concerned about packaging please contact the city the business is located in.
